St Mary's Old Boys Seafood Lunch at Kedai Makanan Kak Leng in Kolombong - K Kinabalu - 13 June 2015

Edmund Kwan invited K Kinabalu Old Boys to a lavish lunch on Saturday (13 June 2015) at Kedai Makanan Kak Leng in Kolombong.

This eatery is patronised by Richard Leong Min Yee for years. Richard will bring his catch of fresh seafood to this eatery and Kak Leng will cook it for him and his friends. Richard and friends even buy their own table and plates which they keep in the shop for their own exclusive and personal use.

Ka Leng is from Sandakan and she used to work in the night Central Market food stall and Restoran Bamboo in Sim Sim in the 60s.

Richard Leong introduced this eatery to me and I have become a regular. I also introduced Kak Leng to Kar Choi and he likes it too.

When Sandakan Old Boys were treated by Chai Hing Wing to a Labour Day Dinner in SRC Restoran, Kar Choi as K Kinabalu Old Boys natural leader also treated Kk based Old Boys to a lavish seafood lunch.

Kar Choi as the gracious host was particularly pleased with Sim Kang Loong turning up in his CNY red shirt. Hee Meng no show raised curiosity but he later explained on our chat group that

he was bed ridden, down with flu and fever.

The lunch started at 12.30 pm and we had a hearty chat until 2.30 pm - the closing time for the eatery.

TQ Kar Choi
